Chasing Sunsets is a book about just that. Mom decides it would be a good idea to get all her kids together and go watch a sunset from the best location she can find. This is going to require a long drive in the car to get there. Now, I am lazy so I would have just told all the kids to look west. However, this mom is a better person than I am so the adventure begins. All the illustrations were colorful, and there were lots of animals, people, and a colorful sky. But let’s not forget the gorgeous sunset. I liked the book very much and it was nice to see someone give God the glory for all things in our world.

Cecilia is about a cat who grew up in Jerusalem. The author made the cats and dogs with very human-like qualities. I just hope that in real life, mommy cats don’t treat their kittens like Cecilia’s mom treated her. Also, I don’t think all dogs are stupid as they were portrayed in this story. In fact, I always see cats running from dogs as fast as they can. Now, I know the author was telling the story of her real cat in a funny and cartoonish way, and I am sure you would enjoy this book. The story tells the journey of Cecilia leaving her mom (ok, not really leaving as much as being forced out) and finding her own human to take care of her. I think you should buy the book and discover for yourself how and if Cecilia finds a human of her own.

Little Mouse’s Sweet Treat

I really like the illustrations in this book. They are fun to look at and full of color. The story itself is fun, also, although Mouse seems a little picky. Just kidding! Mouse wants a sweet snack and who wouldn’t? Mouse decides to ask his friends if they have a sweet snack for him.

You’ll meet a Bear, a Bunny, and a Dog who is sad looking and Cat. OK, I thought a mouse and a cat together was a bad idea. However, all went well. You’ll also meet a Bird, a bluebird, and other great animals along the way.

Will little mouse ever find a snack he wants?

Will he finally find true happiness? OK, it does not go that far!

I recommend you buy the book to find the answers to all the questions.

We start the next Ronaldo adventure flying over the skies above the village of Beresford. Ronaldo is in his second year at the prestigious reindeer flying academy. He is still at the top of his class.

The theme throughout the Ronaldo series is about your ability to believe in yourself so it always reminds me of a popular song from years ago. I’ll sing a few lines. Be warned, I have a bad singing voice:

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away……

( )

Great now I’m going to hear the song in my head.

In fact, I just named the song the official Ronaldo the Flying Reindeer theme song.

In this book in the series, Ronaldo finds himself on another adventure. This time to find “The Phantom Carrot Snatcher” because someone has been stealing his carrots. Ronaldo and his very best friend, Rudi, (not the football player) are determined to find out who it is. Along the way, they find out about friendship and kindness. Will they find out who “The Phantom Carrot Snatcher” is? You’ll just have to buy the book and find out for yourself.

Let me leave you with this thought:

“Good friends make happy days brighter and problems lighter”.

OK…..I stole that from the book!

Craig is a small boy who likes airplanes. We never get to know Craig’s age, which is important because there are a lot of words used in this book that if you knew nothing about aviation you would be confused.

I have aviation experience from my time in the Navy. I would imagine most children between the ages of 4-8, which is the recommended age for this book, would ask a lot of questions or they would not get a lot out of the book. I can’t really say it’s a picture book because there is just one image used over and over.

If your child has an interest in aviation you can buy them this book. I suggest you read the book first, then look up all the aviation terms and use it as a learning experience.
