Abigail is a short story about a little girl whose grandfather has died and she misses him so very much. In fact, she misses him so much she finds someone on the beach, living in a seashell, who looks just likes her grandfather. The story is about love lost and how sometimes we cope with that loss.

What a wonderfully written story with great illustrations. Meet Ambrose, the duck, who wants to fly south but can’t.

His friend Gustave, a rooster, along with Claire, a sheep and Joseph and Jacques, both humans, try to make Ambrose’s dream of flying south come true. Hope you like the ending as much as I did.

A book full of great illustrations and a clever story to get your children to eat more vegetables or at least Brussel sprouts. Follow Harriet as she fights the giant sumo wrestler brussel sprout. I may start eating Brussel sprouts myself. On second thought, no, I won’t!

This is a story about talking squirrels, a girl named Bethany and about making new friends even when you think you may not make friends. I only wish there were more illustrations. I liked the book but felt there were so many areas where illustrations would have made the book come alive. This book is recommended for ages 4-8.

Cecilia is about a cat who grew up in Jerusalem. The author made the cats and dogs with very human-like qualities. I just hope that in real life, mommy cats don’t treat their kittens like Cecilia’s mom treated her. Also, I don’t think all dogs are stupid as they were portrayed in this story. In fact, I always see cats running from dogs as fast as they can. Now, I know the author was telling the story of her real cat in a funny and cartoonish way, and I am sure you would enjoy this book. The story tells the journey of Cecilia leaving her mom (ok, not really leaving as much as being forced out) and finding her own human to take care of her. I think you should buy the book and discover for yourself how and if Cecilia finds a human of her own.
