Billy is a 9-year-old boy who is turning 10 soon on the 10th of the month which also just happens to be in the 10th month of the year, 10-10-10.
Billy lives on the other side of the pond, as they say, in Great Britain. I love to watch T.V. shows from Great Britain so the fact that this book takes place there made it even more fun to read.
Sadly, on his 10th birthday, Billy runs into the town bully, Eddy. Now lucky for Billy he has some friends to turn to for help, Ant, his best friend and Max, Ant’s sister. Max turns out to be the hero of the story but I don’t want to give too much away.
Billy Gets Bullied is a book you can’t stop reading until you come to the end because you want to find out how things turn out for Billy.
Billy Gets Bullied should be read by all parents. I suggest parents read this book with their children and discuss it afterward as a family. I wouldn’t be surprised if you find out that your own child has been or is being bullied.
The book brought back memories for me. You see, I was bullied at almost the same age as Billy but unlike Billy, I felt I had no one to turn to. It’s up to parents and grandparents to make sure the children know they have someone they can confide in.
